Two young sailors ventured south to represent Santa Barbara at Saturday's US Sabot High Point #3 graciously hosted by Del Rey Yacht Club in Marina del Rey.

Twenty-two sailors broken into three divisions enjoyed light to moderate breeze for the one-day, eight-race event. Five short races were completed before the juniors returned to the dock to for a complimentary lunch provided by the host club.

With a freshening breeze, three longer-course races were completed in the afternoon before packing up and trophies.

Both Lucas (10) and Matthew (8) Pierce narrowly missed the podium each finishing fourth in "B" and "C" Fleets respectively. Lucas won a race and was second in two others on his way to finishing just one point out of third and only three points out of second place. Matt's best finish was a second.
