Laser sailors from around southern California came to Santa Barbara for the Cinco de Mayo Regatta, the last of four regattas in the Ullman/Frost series. We saw both ends of the wind spectrum over the weekend, with twenty knots on Saturday and less than five on Sunday. The wind was also shifty both days, switching 180 degrees in one leg during the last race on Saturday. SBYSF sailors included: Garret Tesman in the Laser fleet and Carly Shevitz, Hunter Yegendorf, Hanna Vincent, Nick Perez, Newt Cutcliffe, Briggs Deardorff, Oliver Toole, Kieron Kavanagh, Sky Adams, and Tucker Atterbury in the Radial fleet. It was the last big Laser regatta of the school year and it was nice to have it here in Santa Barbara. SBYSF sailors (Sky, Tucker, Newt, and Kieron) took 4 of the top ten finishes in the Cinco de Mayo regatta and Oliver won the Frost Series overall.
