Employment Opportunities
Summer Program Positions:
Head Coach
In addition to coaching responsibilities for both morning
and afternoon classes, the head coach will also be responsible
for overseeing all on-the-water activities, supervising the
coaching staff, coordinating maintenance with staff, assiting
with the coordination and implemenation of staff training,
and working closely with the Summer Program Director.
Required:
- Safe Boating Course (prerequisite to US Sailing Level
One certification).
- US Sailing Level One Certification
- First Aid & CPR Certification
- At least two years of prior youth sailing coaching experience.
The foregoing requirements may be fulfilled through training
provided by the SBYF prior to the start of the Summer Program.
Summer Coach (Three Positions Available)
Summer coaches will be responsible for on-the-water instruction
during the Santa Barbara Youth Foundation Summer Learn-to-Sail
Program beginning June 16, 2008 and ending August 22, 2008.
Students will range in age from 8-17 years of age.
Candidates for this position must have either prior coaching
experience; or, a strong background in competitive sailing
and a demonstrated interest in working with children.
Instruction will include both classroom and extensive on-the
water time.
Required:
- Safe Boating Course (prerequisite to US Sailing Level
One certification).
- US Sailing Level One Certification
